What does this software help a store do?
GroceryBilling does not require a vendor-specific point-of-sale terminal to operate. A store can use a compatible computer, web browser and an optional keyboard-mode barcode scanner. A receipt can be sent through the browser’s print dialog. Electronic payments are taken through a separate payment provider, not a built-in GroceryBilling acquiring service.
Hardware independence is not the same as being hardware-free in every circumstance. A cashier still needs a suitable device, a receipt printer if paper bills are required, and a scanner if fast barcode scanning is important.
The hardware you may still want
A barcode scanner can save time for UPC/EAN packaged goods. A keyboard and mouse may be faster than touch-only for high-throughput counters. A thermal printer can still be useful even though the software has no proprietary printer driver.
What happens when hardware is replaced?
Detailed transaction history may be stored locally in the old browser. Export records before wiping a device or moving a main register, even when the cloud account and item catalogue remain available.

How to get started
- Check that the checkout device runs an up-to-date supported browser.
- Set a scanner to keyboard mode and test a short barcode.
- Choose an appropriate receipt printer and verify browser print sizing.
- Enter a weighed produce item manually and verify the amount.
- Run trial sales with the chosen external payment provider.
What to plan for before switching
No native serial-connected weighing-scale integration, automatic scale weight capture, raw ESC/POS driver or hardware self-checkout kiosk is promised. Verify device and printer compatibility before deployment.
Questions store owners ask
